Massive information couched in rambling narrative. Many good drawings, but the labeling doesn't match the narrative. On the positive side, there are some very good, well-organized tables which lay out information in a learnable manner.The paperback version is about 8.5 x 11 x 2.5" thick, weighs over 7 pounds and is floppy. It's difficult to find a comfortable position to hold the book for hours of reading and studying the 1,800+ pages. I frequently have to refer to internet sources for clarification, so I keep an iPad close at hand.The essentials version provides some access to on-line study materials through JB Learning, but doesn't include an e-book. It does include an audio version which is handy for traveling, but it can be a data hog. I wish that the streaming audio files were downloadable for long trips where cell data is not available. The synthesized voices provide some comic relief with their robotic pronunciation. JB Learning web access is kind of klunky.I considered getting the Kindle version but it doesn't include the on-line stuff, and pricing was not competitive with the paperback version when I bought it. A tablet or Kindle reader would be much easier to hold for long reading and studying sessions. A classmate has it, and is able to view the drawings clearly on a standard-sized iPad. The search function in Kindle would make it much better for reference, since the index in the print versions is hit-or-miss.
